Lightweight Point And Shoot Canon Powershot G9 And Band Photography?

Canon Powershot g9 and band photography? - lightweight point and shoot

I have a few years of experience with digital SLR cameras, but I sold my camera and take a break from the world of photography. I do not believe in a digital SLR camera yet, (I) am a freelancer and I have no experience in the photography group. This is my first attempt to photograph the group. Since I know a digital SLR to give results much more, while some of his not really go through the procedure for obtaining editiors / Spaces permission. The movement is always a difficult question for me is still the practice before all rights to the band.

I was thinking about buying an external flash adapter and a 58mm lens filter.

Yes, I know that will probably end up costing as much as a DSLR. I do not want a DSLR today, especially because there is nothing against a bright point and shoot with manual settings.

Should I continue with this? Reactions and opinions?

I suggest a concert SLR photo. If you plan to both the G9 a DSLR to spend, why not money for a digital SLR camera? The G9 is a point of the line and shoot, but I would not recommend for concert photography. I use a Canon Rebel XTi for my concert photography. You should go and buy a camera body for cheap and then money for lenses. A good target for concert photography is a 50mm f1.4 or 1.8. The 1.8 is photographed about $ 100, and very surprising.

This is my concert photography: http://www.flickr.com/photos/ambeanerxco ...

Most photos were taken with the 50mm.

I did a search on Flickr, however, and took pictures of very beautiful concert began with the G9. http://flickr.com/search/?q=concert% 20ca ...

You will get good results with the G9 because it does not really measure. Cameras is the ability of ISO is very poor and no better than the other point and shoot. In any case, always shoot in RAW the best out of him ... but in comparison with a digital SLR camera is the gross return is terrible. In addition, you will notice that the lens works too slowly to even in low light conditions. A slow lens with low high ISO performance is combined problems.

Check the ISO test results for you in the links below ...

The good news is that the G9 can shoot in RAW and use an external flash. If I'm not a digital SLR camera, which is how I go.

If you shoot bands, you need a digital SLR - the first will use it like a madman shooting w / other photographers and a few Pa & S. .. look Secondly, especially in programs for low light conditions, you must have a goal of at least 2.8 F stop - too. I am with 1.4, if that one says anything ....

P & O Light, that does not benefit much, trust me I've been there, done that.

* Never use a flash at a concert of the band that I hate! (unless you know for permission: P ask)
